Engine 605 was placed in service in January of 1993 and is the first due engine for all structure fires, alarm bells, smoke investigations, etc. as well as mutual aid and cover-up assignments. Unit is powered by a Detroit 450 HP 8V92 with an Allison automatic transmission. E605 has a Hale 1500 gpm mid-ship top-mount pump and carries 1000 gal. of water. The cab has seating for 8 personnel and has 8 Scott Airpak 75 High Pressure SCBA with 45 min. bottles. The engine is equipped with a thermal imager, CO detector, various hand tools, a 5 KW Onan gasoline generator, and BLS equipment. There are three 200 ft. - 1 3/4" handlines, one 150 ft. - 1 3/4" trashline, and one 200 ft. - 2 1/2". handline. E605 also carries 1000 ft. of 5" and 750 ft. of 3" supply lines.
