Engine 607 and Command 6 were returning to Parsonsburg after the Pocomoke Firefighters Muster. While waiting a the traffic light at U.S. Rt. 13 and Old Snow Hill Rd., Engine 607's crew witnessed a fuse blow out on a Delmarva Power pole on the northbound side of Rt. 13. By the time we made it across the intersection, a brush fire was quickly spreading on the ditch bank. Engine 607 and Command 6 contacted Worcester County 911 and advised them of the situation and brought the brush fire under control. Pocomoke Vol. Fire Co. was alerted by Worcester to respond to the location. Pocomoke Fire Chief Dicky Gladding soon arrived and took command. With Parsonsburg units on the scene, Chief Gladding redirected Pocomoke's engine to respond to a second call further down Old Snow Hill Rd. for wires down. Pocomoke VFC Fire Police and Pocomoke PD were also on location for traffic control.
