Lt. J.T. Tyler conducted a drill on response to Auto Fires. Firefighters first reviewed the various types of vehicles from passenger cars to freight trucks to charter buses. We discussed the various hazards that can be expected with each type of vehicle. After completing the short classroom portion, everyone went outside to do some practical evolutions. Fire was set in the car and firefighters practiced different methods of extinguishment and practiced forcing entry into the car for overhaul. Cadets from Parsonsburg and Delmar also participated in the training.
