Fire Destroys Garage On - Northumberland Drive

At 0312 Hrs, Central put the call out for a working garage fire on Northumberland Drive in Station 6's first due. E605 arrived with what was a 2 1/2 story garage fully involved with total structural collapse. 2 - 1 3/4" handlines were quickly deployed to protect exposures and initiate extinguishment. Upon E703's arrival, a 2 1/2" handline was stretched to the "A/D" corner followed by a 3rd 1 3/4" to the "B" side. After the Fire Marshall completed the initial part of his investigation, an excavator was brought in to assist with overhaul. Parsonsburg was assisted by Delmar (Sta.74), Pittsville (Sta.7), a special request was added to bring a tanker from Willards (Sta.8). Sta.7 held a crew at their station which covered both Sta.6 & 7. Asst. Chief Tyler (617) had Command.
