Groundbreaking - For Our New Firehouse
Saturday, July 7, 2018
On Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 2:00pm the Officers & Members of the Parsonsburg Vol. Fire Company, Inc. joined community members for an official groundbreaking ceremony of the new fire house. The new firehouse construction will begin on Monday and is expected to last only 9 months.
The current firehouse that houses the Parsonsburg Fire Company was incorporated in 1927 and currently does not have enough room to house all of the equipment or have a nice training room. The firehouse is 7,000 square feet.
The new firehouse is approximately 15,000 square feet. Some features of the new building are:
- Training & Meeting room with latest
technology for training sessions
- Back up generator
- 8 Engine bays for fire apparatus
- Executive offices
- Exercise room
- Dayroom
- Bunkroom to house 24 hour ALS coverage
Today at the ceremony we were joined by members of the Perdue Foundation, Patricia M. Hazel Foundation, Delegate Norm Conway, Delegate Jim Mathias, members of the Wicomico County Council, Wicomico County Partnership for Family & Children, States Attorney Davis R. Ruark, and AW Booth Engineers.
