Around 230 Monday afternoon, Station 6 was alerted for a natural cover fire on Johnson Road West of Wango Road. Responding units were advised that the fire was on the shoulder of the road and spreading fast. Due to high winds and low humidity, the fire spread into the woods. Command (618 J. Shockley) requested additional brush units and tankers to the scene. Crews worked for about 2 hours to bring the fire under control and clean up.
