Early Morning Crash Sends 4 To The Hospital - Ocean Gateway & Walston Switch

On Saturday, November 10, 2007 at approximately 0735 hours, Captain Whittington (619) advised Wicomico E.O.C. of a vehilce accident at the intersection of Ocean Gateway and Walston Switch Road. Captain Whittington was in Command 6 and established command over the entire incident. He immediately requested additional Paramedic units out of Salisbury and Pittsville after triaging and finding there to be five patients.

Command also requested additional fire police to shut down Ocean Gateway.

Paramedic A-6, and B-6 responded within minutes of the dispatch. Medical crews arrived on scene and began and patient care. Rescue-Engine 6 responded with Deputy Chief Mark Rickards. Command 6 had the Rescue crew assist with patient care and began stabilizing the vehilces.

Parsonsburg EMS transported 2 patients, Salisbury EMS transported 2 patients, 1 male subject refused treatment, and Pittsville EMS stood by at Station 7.

Command cleared the scene at 0815 hours.
