Fatal MVC On Mt. Hermon Road - Near Mt. Hermon Manor

Just after 10 pm, EMS Captain Ward (1140) from Sta.11 (Powellville) advised Wicomico Central of a serious MVC with entrapment on Mt. Hermon Rd. West of Mt. Hermon Manor. Central dispatched Sta.6 and Sta.7 (Pittsville) for the call. Rescue Engine 604 and Paramedic A6 responded followed by Rescue 7 and Medic A7. While units were enroute, 1140 advised of One Priority 1 patient that would require extended extrication. 620 (Lt. Tyler) arrived POV and requested Trooper 4 to respond and established Mt. Hermon Rd. Command. E605 (616 – D/C Rickards) responded for the LZ. Upon the arrival of RE604, Command was transferred to 617 (A/C Tyler) and 620 was assigned Operations. Within seconds, personnel were able to access and remove the patient from the car. After rapid assessment, the patient was moved to Paramedic A6 for transport by ground to PRMC in Salisbury. Command cancelled Trooper 4 and Rescue 7. RE604 ALONG WITH Traffic Control 7 and Sta.6 Fire Police remained on scene for about 2 hours to assist MSP with lighting for the investigation. Units On Scene/Enroute: RE604, E605, PM-A6, B6, Sta.6 Fire Police; Rescue 7, Medic A7, TC7, Command 7, MSP.
