The officers and members of the Parsonsburg Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. are pleased to announce the opening of the new Parsonsburg Volunteer Fire Company Station # 6 on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. The new station, located at 33030 Old Ocean City Road, will provide emergency services for residents in the unincorporated communities in Parsonsburg and the surrounding towns of Wicomico County, MD. During the construction of the new facility, firefighters have been operating out of the original Station #6. The new station will provide a permanent home for the fire company to continue meeting the public-safety needs of this growing community. In addition to responding to 9-1-1 calls, fire station personnel are responsible for smoke alarm inspections, pre-fire planning, public education and volunteer-firefighter recruitment and training. The community and media are invited to attend the dedication and grand opening. The new station will be open for tours and meeting of firefighters during the open house from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Parking will be at the original Station #6 located at 32960 Old Ocean City Road; Parsonsburg, MD 21849.
