The Officers & Members of the Parsonsburg Volunteer Fire Company are pleased to annouce the opening of our new fire station. Fire Station 6 was officially opened on November 7, 2010 @ 1411 hours by the Fire Chief along with his fellow officers and members. Our Previous Firehouse: The Parsonsburg Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. was organized in 1924 with the old firehouse being built in 1925 on land donated by E.R. Ennis. During the time at our current firehouse we operated out of a 7,000 square foot building that is over 80 years old. That building has endured several additions as well as renovations and holds sentimental value for the lifetime members, but has long outlived its 1924 construction. That facility is woefully inadequate for today's fire & EMS protection needs. It has limited handicap accessibility and many citizens of our community have been prevented from enjoying the events held at the facility. Our New Home: Our new fire station is located at 33030 Old Ocean City Road; Parsonsburg, MD. The 14,560 square foot station contains new administrative offices/conference room, training room and an expanded apparatus floor to accommodate additional firefighting and emergency services equipment and a mezzanine level for additional storage including the quartermaster. The station will provide sleeping quarters for up to 6 firefighters with the capability for increasing that during storms or extended operations. Our new Station has a full-size kitchen, shower facilities for male and female staff members. Physical training is now possible with the addition of a work-out/exercise room to improve Firefighter health and safety.
