Sawdust Fire On - Middleton Rd In Parsonsburg

Just before 5 o'clock this morning, a call went out for sawdust on fire inside a structure. Crews from Parsonsburg, Pittsville, and Willards responded. Engine 605 was first on the scene at the large sawdust storage facility with nothing evident, investigating. Personnel soon found a small fire on the East side that was found to go very deep into the pile. Deputy Chief 6 (J.T. Tyler) arrived on scene and assumed command, 816 (K. Twilley) was assigned operations. Brush units from the 3 companies were requested to respond and take a position in the field and wet down material as it was removed from the structure by bucket loaders. Access was made for Tanker 608 to take a position with the brush units for water supply. Units On Scene: Sta.6: E605, RE604, E607, Ta608, Br606, B6, & EMS6.
