Elederly Couple Displaced By Fire - In The 7800 Block of Jones Hastings Road

Saturday, July 7, 2018
An elderly couple were able to escape their home without injury when an early morning fire started in their mobile home. Soon after dispatch, 626 (E. Tyler) arrived on scene and confirmed a working fire and verified occupants were out in a safe area and un-injured. Engine 605 arrived on scene with fire visible. The crew of E605 initiated an agressive attack. Engine 703 arrived and its crew assisted with fire attack and overhaul along with the crew of Engine 801. The Maryland State Fire Marshall's Office investigated the incident and determined the cause to be electrical. The home's occupants were alerted to the fire thanks to a functioning smoke detector that Parsonsburg VFC personnel installed several months earlier when they responded to the same residence for an electrical fire. Units On Scene: Parsonsburg - E605, RE604, T608. PMA6, Br606, Command 6 Pittsville - E703, Rescue 7 Willards - E801, Tanker 8
